DESCRIPTION:RACE DATE: September 27\, 2025\nSTART TIME: 8:00am \nRace Details \nLOCATION: The Little Wharf Race starts at the East Cliff Village Shopping Center (21511 East Cliff Drive\, Santa Cruz\, CA 95062) and finishes inside Capitola Village in the Capitola Esplanade. \nGETTING TO THE START LINE (Parking & Shuttles): Since the East Cliff Village Shopping Center (21511 East Cliff Drive\, Santa Cruz\, CA 95062) will not be available for participants to park on race day due to the build and setup of the start line\, there will be very little parking available in and around the Start Line. Therefore\, we encourage participants to utilize the complimentary\, pre-race shuttles available at the Capitola Mall. They will be running from 6:00am until 7:30am. \nTHE COURSE\nCOURE DETAILS: The net downhill\, coastal three-mile race is a great opportunity to run fast and take in the beauty of the Santa Cruz & Capitola coastline. Early Fall presents some of the best weather in the county\, so you are likely going to experience beautiful weather out on the course. \nSTART: The race begins East Cliff Village Shopping Center \nMILE 1: The first mile is net downhill\, but has rolling hills along the ocean\, passing by Blacks Beach\, Sunny Cove Beach\, and Moe’s Beach at the Corcoran Lagoon\, before finishing at 26th Beach. \nMILE 2: Mile 2 starts with a small hill\, but is mostly flat\, hugging the coastline on East Cliff Drive at Pleasure Point\, home of the legendary surf spots\, “The Hook“ and “Pleasure Point.” \nMILE 3: The final mile drifts through local seaside streets… once the ocean reappears; it’s a big downhill past the Capitola Wharf and into the Esplanade. \nFINISH: The Finish Line is on Capitola Esplanade in the Capitola Village. \nFor your safety\, the course is closed to all vehicular traffic\, including skateboards\, bikes\, wagons\, wheelbarrows\, roller skates/blades and baby jogger/strollers. Pets are prohibited. Mile posts are marked and splits will be called at each mile. All participants must maintain a 20-minute-per-mile pace. \nFIRST AID: Help is always at hand. Emergency medical services are available on course and at the FINISH. Watch for running medics with fanny packs and specially marked tee shirt interspersed throughout the field. \nWATER STATION: There will be 1 water station available on course around 1.5 miles into the race.  Water will also be available at the finish line. \nTHE FINISH\nFINISH & POST-RACE: The Finish Line is on Capitola Esplanade in the Capitola Village. Race finishers get food\, water\, finishers medal and Capitola Beach Bag after they finish. The top 30 overall male and female finishers will receive a coveted Top 30 Top provided by ASICS apparel.

On past tours\, we’ve set the table on the Malibu Pier\, the San Diego Tuna Harbor Dock\, and the Stock Island Shrimp Boat Pier in the Florida Keys. This year\, we’re adding two new ones in Capitola and Santa Barbara. \nThe historic Capitola Wharf broke in half in the huge waves of winter 2023. The pier is now reopened\, repaired\, and revived with a new deck and pilings. We will celebrate the transformation with a long table feast featuring the farmers of Santa Cruz County\, the fisherfolk of Monterey Bay\, and staff from the Monterey Bay Fisheries Trust. This unique nonprofit started a Community Seafood Program\, and works to ensure sustainable fisheries\, resilient waterfront communities and a healthy ocean ecosystem in this region. \nThis is founder Jim Denevan’s hometown; the family house is on Pleasure Point\, about a mile west\, and brother Bill’s organic orchard is just five miles away. Jim will head up the kitchen. DESCRIPTION:“VDUBs in the Village”\, an air-cooled VW event taking place in the Capitola Villiage. Capitola Village is a small seaside village that is located steps from the sand in Capitola\, Ca. We have reserved the village for the day to accommodate over 200 vintage Volkswagens to park throughout the streets of the village. \nWe will also have live bands performing on the Capitola Village beach stage. \nThere is plenty to do and enjoy. Check out all the different Vw’s on display\, walk on the beach\, check out the restaurants\, shop at the boutiques\, grab something cold at the ice cream parlor\, and play some games in the arcade. \n• Air-cooled VW’s up to 1979 \n• Saturday May 17th\, 2025\, \n• 7am – 4pm \n• Arrive between 6:30am-9am to get parked. The streets with in the village area will be closed off to any moving vehicles by 9:45. \n• The best way into the village for check in: Exit highway 1 at Bay ave\, head west\, follow Bay Ave as it will turn into Monterey Ave\, and continue straight down the hill into the village. \n• If you want to park with friends or group\, please meet up outside the event and then drive to the village all together as a group. \n• You must register your VW to park your Volkswagen in the Capitola Village. \n• Your registration is good for “1 VW” parked in the Capitola Village. \n• Walk ins and general admission – FREE \n• No pop-ups or canopies by your car.
